Weaving Tuusula

The proposal aims to combine the agricultural, recreational and cultural heritage of the area within the project site, creating a vibrant and activated landscape for the residents, the community, and visitors. By weaving the history of the place, the needs of the community and sustainable practices, we envision Anttila as the productive center and communal node within the Lake Tuusula region.

Four primary programs were defined: housing, agriculture/production, culture/education, and recreation/tourism. We imagine the proposed programs to coexist with each other, as a woven textile, existing as a part of a larger system and society. The natural environment and fields are the base to which all programs connect and arise from.
