Sewing Hyvinkää

Historically, the train has been a key element contributing to make Hyvinkäa a productive and connected city. Therefore, the project proposes the reinvention of the station area and the railway infrastructure as an integral part of the city centre. This is achieved by transforming and regenerating existing leftover areas along the railroad, giving them an added value.
These spaces will work as ecological filters, with green zones serving as parks, urban landscapes and enhancing the existing nature by connecting them to the existing green corridors.
Furthermore, these spaces will reduce the visual and physical barrier effect that the railway has nowadays and will put into value again the identity of the railway as a positive and important part of the history and future of the city.
