The proposal transforms Lahti Sports Center into a vibrant, year-round destination. A new “Ridge Line” invites exploration through nature, activity, and culture, connecting Salpausselkä to the city. Traffic is restructured to prioritize pedestrians, and green networks enhance biodiversity and microclimate. Early interventions include playful canopies that create a “Spectator’s Stroll” to and around the area and a welcoming atmosphere. The transformation unfolds in phases, co-created with schools, universities, and local actors. The result is a cohesive and resilient urban landscape that honors Lahti’s sporting legacy while opening new possibilities for everyday life and future events.
