Collective Metabolism

The project is envisioned as a metabolisme collective where environmental, social, cultural and economic actors participate collectively to develop the site. A flexible strategy will be adapted to the needs of inhabitants: an environmental and social matrix composed of linear bands, based on the dichotomy between predictable (reiteration) and disturbance (surprise), a renovated barn that becomes a cultural and economic core (food-lab & multi-functional space), and new inhabitants and activities by increasing the building density. Shared spaces will allow residents to be proactive, being producers and consumers of services. Social community can live, work, and study in the same place, with less movement, less consumption, and with a philosophy of “to do with” and “doing together”.
